Tent Sites // Lean-To Sites // Cabins
Just outside of NYC, roughly 10 miles north of the George Washington Bridge, Alpine Scout Camp is over 700 Acres of wooded camping property hidden off the Palisades. Donated to the ‘Boy Scout Foundation of Greater New York’ by philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, Jr. in 1940, for the purpose of establishing a weekend camp for the New York City Boy Scouts. Alpine offers short term camping to Scouts and a selection of facilities to suit any group’s needs. We have everything from small tenting sites to a conference center with lodging for over 40 people.
Every weekend from September to June, Alpine Scout Camp hosts a large number of events: District Camp-O-Rees, Wint-O-Rees, Klondike Derbies, and Regional and National Conferences. Alpine Scout Camp also offers a large range of weekend activities like Archery, orienteering courses, and various in/out of camp hiking trails. The Gary I. Laermer Activity Center includes a 24′ indoor and 32′ outdoor climbing wall and a low COPE course.
In July and August, Alpine operates John E. Reeves Cub World; boasting a skilled staff and exciting program tailored appropriately for Cub Scouts. Camp sites remain open and available to Trek NYC groups all summer long.
